A portrait of Mrs Boultbee depicted reading a book, with tree in background. She is wearing a white dress with a brown shawl. There is a black and white dog, probably a spaniel to the viewer's left. Set against a blue sky with clouds. Dated 1784 (lower right).

Artist: Robert Hunter. Initialed 'RH' at lower right.
Born in Ulster, Hunter was considered the leading artist in Ireland between c. 1750 and 1780. He is last documented in 1803.
