Title on frame: 'Sunday Morning.'

The painting depicts a Sunday morning scene after church. The central figures are an elderly lady dressed in black holding her prayer book. To her left stands a younger lady dressed in pink and wearing a straw hat. There are other well-dressed men and women chatting in the churchyard in the beautiful dappled light.

Artist: Alan Stewart RSA (1865-1951).
Born in Edinburgh, Alan Stewart painted historical and historical subjects. His work can be found in Holyrood Palace, Edinburgh.
